I'm a multidisciplinary marine conservationist and I use a combination of science, advocacy, and storytelling to be a voice for our seas.

My day job sees me collecting data on recreational fisheries while I spend my free time writing articles for this website, taking pictures for conservation photo stories, creating social media content, and, of course, getting in the water.

Whether I'm at home in Rhode Island or in the field abroad, becoming a leader in marine conservation is my passionate pursuit.

marine
scientist

I'm a fisheries scientist with big career aspirations in the field of marine conservation. I'm a passionate believer that good marine conservation is beneficial to stakeholders (aka humans) as well. My goal is to be a driver of these win-win solutions in the areas of fisheries, marine protected areas, and community-led marine conservation.

So far, I've worked with the Gili Eco Trust, Ocean Quest Coral Propagation, the Division of Marine Fisheries in Rhode Island, Shoals Marine Laboratory, the Joint Nature Conservation Committee, and more.

What's next? More field experience and a PhD to match.

Jacques Cousteau wasn't kidding when he said, “The best way to observe a fish is to become a fish."

There's nothing I love more than spending time beneath the surface. As a dive professional, I not only use my scuba skills to complement my career as a marine scientist, but also to teach budding divers how to thrive underwater while caring for the ocean.

Ocean conservation needs all of us, and there's no better way to get connected to the sea than to immerse yourself in it.

travel and adventure

Before becoming what it is today, my website used to be a travel blog. I loved documenting my adventures around the world (and most of them were outdoors or underwater).

I'll still sometimes write travel guides to help you explore abroad, especially if it's near the ocean or out in nature.
